Jane Kitakkaranon was born in Bangkok, Thailand and grew up in the fashion industry. Her mother owned a factory that produced jeans and specialized in mass production. Jane became passionate about fashion and couture in particular at a very young age, traveling the world with her mother to meet international clients. Her mother instilled in her an appreciation for world cultures, travel, and architecture. Jane carried these passions with her throughout her childhood and eventually moved to London, where she attended an international high school.

After graduating high school, Jane was accepted to London College of Fashion, where she focused on womenswear her first two years and the final year chose to focus on evening wear and bridal. She was the only person in the entire year to not choose ready to wear.

The day after handing in her final thesis project. Jane began working at a world renowned couture brand based in London. She started as an intern, working in embroidery production position. Working closely with the patternmaker and design team, Jane helped design embroidery and placement for the brand.

After one year honing her skills, Jane opened her own atelier in Bangkok named L’Astelle, where she is the Creative Director and Head Designer. L’Astelle specializes in custom eveningwear and bridal gowns. While the atelier is currently based in Bangkok, Jane spends half of the year traveling in Europe. Her team in Bangkok consists of 20 people that handle sewing and pattern making while the designer, fabric team, and embroidery designer are based in London.
